Glow from the inside out—science approved, skin approved, and totally you.
If your skin could write a thank-you card, it would go straight to the dream team of red light therapy and infrared sauna. These two wellness technologies are powerful on their own, but optimal together.
At Awaken for Wellness, we’ve taken this pairing to the next level with our Onyx Light Therapy panel inside our full spectrum infrared saunas, designed for deep cellular healing. The combination gives you a skin-boosting ritual that’s both luxurious and backed by science.
Here are five fun yet evidence-based reasons why this duo is your skin’s new best friend:
The Collagen Comeback
Red light therapy (wavelengths between 630–850nm) works by stimulating fibroblasts—your collagen-producing cells. The result? Firmer, smoother skin and fewer fine lines. A 2014 study published in Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery found that red light therapy significantly improves skin texture and collagen density.
Our Onyx Light Therapy panel is specially designed to deliver these skin-boosting wavelengths efficiently and evenly while you relax in your sauna.
Meanwhile, our full-spectrum infrared sauna helps increase blood flow, delivering oxygen and nutrients to your skin, and fueling that fresh collagen production.

The Detox Glow-Up
Far infrared sauna is one of the most effective ways to encourage deep, detoxifying sweat—helping your body release stored toxins like heavy metals, BPA, and phthalates. According to research in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health, sweating in infrared environments supports the elimination of these unwanted compounds through the skin.
Here’s where it gets even better: our Onyx Light Therapy panel emits both red and near-infrared light, which not only boosts cellular energy but also helps enhance sweat volume. That means more detox potential—especially when combined with the warming environment of the sauna. Increased sweat = increased surface area for detox = cleaner, clearer, more vibrant skin.
Together, these therapies support the liver, lymph, and skin in doing what they do best: flushing out the gunk and making room for your glow.

Inflammation? Not Today.
Red light therapy doesn’t just improve how your skin looks—it helps calm how it feels. By reducing inflammatory markers like TNF-? and IL-6, it soothes redness and irritation. A 2017 review in AIMS Biophysics noted its effectiveness in managing skin conditions like acne, rosacea, and eczema.
Add in the circulation and lymphatic support of the sauna, and you’ve got a naturally anti-inflammatory duo that your skin will love.

Power to the Mitochondria
Your cells’ mitochondria are like tiny power plants, and red light therapy charges them up to produce more ATP—the fuel that keeps your skin regenerating, healing, and glowing. A 2016 study showed that this leads to faster cell turnover and improved skin function.
The far infrared sauna at Awaken enhances this even further by improving oxygenation and circulation—giving your skin everything it needs to thrive.

The Acne Assassin Combo
The heat from the sauna helps open pores and flush out built-up oil and debris, while also reducing bacteria. Then red light therapy steps in to calm inflammation, regulate oil production, and speed up healing.
This combo is gentle, non-invasive, and effective—ideal for anyone dealing with stubborn acne or post-breakout scarring.
