Awaken’s COVID- 19 Protection Protocol

We are taking many new steps for the safety of all, however we want you to know two BIG things you will need to know before your appointment.

1) Please bring towels for your Sauna and Float sessions. We are attempting to reduce the chance of spreading any virus from person to person.
2) Please bring your own water bottle.

 

What we are doing:

.

  • Hand sanitizer is widely available in the lobby and private rooms.
  • Employees are asked to stay home if they exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19 including cough, fever, or shortness of breath OR if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Client visits will be staggered to minimize overlaps. This will allow staff to properly clean and disinfect our rooms and lobby between clients.
  • Appointments have also been extended to allow staff the time they need to clean and disinfect for clients safely.
  • All common surface areas are routinely cleaned at least every hour with sanitizing antiviral disinfectants including door handles, tables, and other commonly touched hard surfaces.
  • Treatment rooms are thoroughly disinfected between each client
  • Treatment rooms and lobby areas now have a HEPA and UVB Air Filtration to help filter and clean the air.

 

Sauna Rooms:

  • Our saunas are deep cleaned between each client
  • All high touch items and areas are disinfected including door handles, light switches, remotes, panels, tables, chairs, etc.
  • A HEPA and UVB Air Filter will be placed in each sauna room to help filter and clean the air

 

Float Rooms:

  • Between each client, shower walls, floors, handles, and accessories are disinfected.
  • Float tank entrances and high touch surfaces; including float room door handles, shelves, towel benches, and other commonly touched surfaces will all be disinfected.
  • Float tank walls and handles will be disinfected after each session using a safe hydrogen peroxide solution.
  • Our float tanks have built-in filtration and cleaning systems for the water. There is currently no evidence that COVID-19 can spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs.
  • Float water is always treated with Hydrogen peroxide and filtered a minimum of three times between each float. The water is continuously being filtered through a 5-micron filtration system and sanitized with a UV light.

 

What we are asking of YOU :

  • We ask that you bring your own towels to each session
  • We ask that you bring your own water bottle for each session
  • We ask that if you bring anyone with you to your session who is not doing a service to not linger in the lobby. (i.e. If you have a driver, caretaker, or someone waiting in the lobby during your service, we ask that they not sit our lobby areas.)

Here is what you need to know:

Your safety is our top priority. We have kept our treatment rooms squeaky clean while you’ve been away. We will continue to keep our rooms clean by thoroughly disinfecting surfaces and equipment, before, during, and after each treatment.

As a standard Awaken protocol, our therapists have 30 minutes between clients. We have met the request by some of our therapists to allow further expanded minutes between clients to make sure everyone feels safe. This goes above the industry standard of 15 minutes between massage sessions. This time allows therapists to properly sanitize, allows our filtration to filter the air, and allows some time for the therapist to reset for the next client.

Going Forward;

Your treatment experience will look a little different when coming into your appointment.

Following the new local and CDC Guidelines & Expanded Safety Protocols:

• **You will find a fresh cloth affixed under the face cradle. This is designed to act as an optional alternative for your mask during your session while face down. The goal is to remove the discomfort of the direct contact from your facemask & increase breathability while still providing an equal barrier of protection.

• **You will find a HEPA filter with internal UVC directly on the floor under your face cradle. This will help to take a majority of breath coming from the client and bring it directly through filtration and blowing it out and away from the head of the table. These filters with UVC reduce up to 99.97% of harmful germs, dust, pollen, mold spores, viruses, and other allergens. This will help to keep the room free of any airborne client virus as well as providing cleaner air for therapist and client.

• We will continue to allow a minimum of 30 minutes in between each client so that our therapists can properly disinfect their treatment space.

• If you are late for your appointment we will be reducing your appointment session time.

• If you are sick in any capacity, coughing, sneezing, fever, or chills, please stay home. Please call us as soon as possible prior to your appointment and we will reschedule your appointment.

• Massage therapists will be sanitizing and cleaning their treatment room between each appointment ensuring a clean environment for each client. We will be using CDC approved 3% H202 solution for destroying Covid-19 on contact.

• **Awaken for Wellness has added HEPA filters to each treatment room and lobby area. These filters reduce up to 99.97% of harmful germs, dust, pollen, mold spores, and other allergens. The filters also contain a UVc light that helps kill airborne viruses such as influenza, staph, rhinovirus, etc.

While the new normal will look and feel different, we promise that you will still have a therapeutic experience in the comfort and safety of your own private session and you will leave feeling recharged and balanced.
