How often should I float to get the benefits?2020-05-19T01:31:06+00:00

Single and first floats can often be profound. However, there can be a bit of a learning curve requiring a few floats to feel totally comfortable. Also, floating has powerful cumulative effects and is becoming recognized as an essential part of an optimal ongoing wellness practice. Basically, floating once a week will supercharge your long term physical, mental, and spiritual health.

What if I fall asleep while floating?2020-05-19T01:30:24+00:00

Many guests love to fall asleep in the relaxing environment of a float tank. In fact, 1 hour of rest in the tank is anecdotally reported as the equivalent of 4 hours of deep restful sleep. Also, because of the high salt content, you will float completely safely whether you’re awake or asleep.

Can I float with someone?2020-05-19T01:29:36+00:00

Though the float tanks are spacious, they’re only meant for a single person to fully stretch out. Each float session is a completely private session. You can always schedule a float session with someone at the same time but in separate float rooms.

What if I am claustrophobic?2020-05-19T01:26:55+00:00

Our float tanks are incredibly spacious with plenty of room to stretch out and sit up. The float cabin and float room are even big enough to stand up in. We recommend that you float in either the float cabin or our float room for your first float. Additionally, we have options for soothing music and low lights during your float. You have total control over your comfort.

When should I arrive?2020-05-19T01:26:11+00:00

First-time floaters with us will need to read and sign a waiver and watch a brief introductory video. Our staff would like to have time to answer your questions and concerns, and most people like to visit the restroom before heading into the tank. We want you to enjoy your full time of floating, so we encourage you to come 15 minutes early

Should I shave ?2018-02-17T04:26:58+00:00

This is not a concern! Come as you are. All therapists have seen it all so don’t worry about your grooming. We are here to help you; that is our only concern!

What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?2018-02-17T04:26:14+00:00

Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

What will the massage or bodywork feel like?2018-02-17T04:25:59+00:00

A relaxing Swedish massage is often a baseline for clients. In a general Swedish massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. Often, a light oil or lotion is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. The oil also helps hydrate your skin. You should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body is not resisting.

Will the practitioner be present when I disrobe?2018-02-17T04:24:53+00:00

The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet and sometimes blanket.

How do I (politely) let a massage therapist know that what they’re doing doesn’t feel good?2018-02-17T04:24:27+00:00

Massage Therapists would rather their clients leave happy and satisfied than not, so if the therapist is doing something that is too intense or doesn’t feel effective, a good ‘that’s a little too much pressure’ or ‘that area is too sensitive to be worked on’ should help the therapist accomplish the results you desire.

Will I be covered during the session?2018-02-17T04:23:26+00:00

You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

What should I wear?2018-02-17T04:22:27+00:00

You can undress to your comfort level, and you will be draped for the entirety of the massage. Depending on your goals for the session sometimes a therapist will instruct you to leave certain articles on or request you to wear specific type of loose or yoga style clothing. If you request a lot of stretching during your session it may be best to bring a pair of shorts and sports bra or t-shirt.

You can request your session to be performed through clothing if you are uncomfortable with removing clothes. Most therapists are comfortable with this however they will also generally state that you will have a more effective session if lotion is involved.
